The 10 Types of Hats for Men to Know

Until the 1950s, an elegant man could not go out without his hat. The essential accessory, the headgear protected both cold and sun while being a sign of social distinction. But its use has gradually lost ... before returning (a little) in grace in the early 2000s.

You will see that the hat is really the perfect accessory to complete an outfit and be elegant. But before choosing the model you will wear, here is a guide to the main hats for men to know and try.

The Trilby
His name is taken from the eponymous novel George du Maurier, released in 1894. This small hat with short edges (less than 5 cm), is round with a low cap and rather soft. This is one of the most famous.

We find in felt, cotton cloth, straw, wool and even linen. It adapts to all seasons and is easy to wear.

The Fedora
It is also known as Borsalino, that of the most famous brand. Felt with wide edges, it was popularized by Humphrey Bogart or Jean-Paul Belmondo in the movie ... "Borsalino".

The edge is slightly downward at the front and bent up at the back while the cap is dug. It's also a classic of men's fashion.

The pork pie hat
Popularized in the 21st century by the character of Walter White in Breaking Bad, this round that is distinguished by its low, flat cap. Its name refers to pork pie, a typical British dish.

The Boater
In straw with flat edges and cap, it is usually surrounded by a ribbon. It was appreciated by sportsmen at the end of the 19th century and remains associated with the pleasures of summer. This is the perfect hat for elegant relaxation.

The top hat
With its wide and high cap, cylindrical and surrounded by a ribbon, it is very elegant but difficult to wear every day. We reserve it for very chic weddings and wear it with a tail-of-magpie. And no, we do not always bring out a rabbit.

The bowler hat
Well known, it is all around with its short edges and curved. Originally, the bowler was worn by English gamekeepers. It is associated with Charlie Chaplin. Better to choose good quality to prevent it flatten.

Panama
The real Panama is in vegetable fibers. It is supple and light and has become a symbol of elegance. The authentic can be rolled in the pocket and has a rosette on the top of the cap. It is most often ivory and surrounded by a brown or black ribbon.

The real Panama is entirely hand-woven but you can find it at any price depending on the fineness of the straw.

The cowboy hat or Stetson
It is a wide-brimmed model that was used to protect the riders. It is most often made of felt and Stetson is a particular model. This is the hat of Buffalo Bill, invented by John B. Stetson in the 1860s. It is still difficult to wear every day unless you live in Texas.

The paperboy hat
It is popular in the 19th century. Now, women or men like to stylize your look with a paperboy hat.

The beret
Symbol of France, it is soft, round, made of wool to protect from the cold. It is still very popular in the South-West and could be, like the bob, a new era of glory with the return of the fashion of the 1990s. So, ready to take out your beret?

What Form of Cap to Choose This Summer?

Far from the cap screwed upside down on the head, with jogging and sneakers, the cap can also bring a retro-chic touch to your look, depending on the type of headgear you choose!

American caps, modernity par excellence
This type of hats is generally worn by American sportsmen fond of baseball or basketball. But it would be too reductive to limit them to this and this accessory has evolved since its creation in the early 20th century.

Among these US models, there is the fitted, a round cap without the hole in the back, the size of which depends solely on the head circumference. It has become the favorite accessory of some American stars such as Fifty Cent or Pharrell Williams and has allowed emerging in a few years brands like New Era.

The snapback, with a flat visor, worn by Rihanna or Chris Brown among others, is, unlike the fitted, totally adjustable thanks to a clip plastic strap. Released in the 80s, this type of cap has been a new craze in recent years, thanks to the diversification of products, for example with leather or fabric straps.

The curve is the emblem of American baseball players. Also called trucker, this cap is easily identifiable thanks to its curved visor. It comes in the form of a net, to let your head breathe.

Traditional caps, for a retro-chic look
For a more retro look, try the flat cap, more commonly known as a beret. Formerly a symbol of the workers, this fabric model is recognizable by its central button (not always present on contemporary models) and its small visor, brought by the American culture.

The paperboy hat, another symbol of the workers, is much deeper and is worn asymmetrically on the back or on the side.

The Irish cap is, more round and wide, sheep wool for a style "shepherd" that will have to assume!

Finally, the military cap is more strict with its short and rigid visor and its flat cap on the top of the head. It will associate perfectly with the wearing of the trellis, again trendy for a few years, for a look more "army".

Whatever your style, there is necessarily a cap made for you, to sublimate your outfit. You choose the model that suits you the most: anyway, in 2018, all the caps (or almost) are in fashion!

What are The Man Fashion Trends of The Spring of 2018

At the end of February-beginning of March, there was Paris Fashion Week during which we could appreciate (or not) the latest trends of the greatest fashion designers. Pro or against, there has been something for everyone, so let's take a look at what's the trend for men for this spring of 2018.

The latest trends in Men's Fashion - Spring 2018
This year again, the "big" of fashion knew ... how to say ... surprise us! The 90s style, through the shirt, oversize and normcore, there has been for all (bad) tastes. But in all of this, there are trends that happen and that can be elegant. Let's take a look at these latest Man fashion trends from this spring of 2018 and see what are the alternatives/opportunities for a trendy look.

1. The Hawaiian Shirt
And yes, this year, we've seen some Hawaiian t-shirts, two terms synonymous with bad taste: t-shirts and Hawaiian patterns. Here, we recommend you to be very careful if you do not want to look like Magnum's actor or Patrick Healy in Mary at any cost. Already, given the references, you immediately understand the trend of the Hawaiian shirt.

The recommendation of the Man Trend:
Instead, prefer tropical patterns on parties of your garment such as a pocket printed on a simple t-shirt or the edges of the t-shirt sleeves. Objective: stay sober and stylish.
If you want to wear it on a complete piece, you can quite but to wear with another piece simple and united.

2. The "Heritage" ranges
The trend is for clothing called range "Heritage", that is to say with the big logo very visible. From the 80s and 90s, this trend is a tribute to vintage. Be careful not to abuse it.

The recommendation of the Man Trend:
It is possible to wear signature clothing but prefer them on sportswear to wear in streetwear: to give a vintage touch to a sportswear. This adds a trendy and sophisticated side to your outfit.

3. The Normcore
Normcore, what is it? This is the "Normal Attitude". The principle: be anything but the trend, long live the fashion faux pas! Basically, it's against the trends and assumes its old-fashioned side. For that, it is necessary to return mainly in the years 90, years during which, the bad taste was of size. You grab a high-waisted raw denim, a big, unformatted waistcoat or even a fleece, or an extra-large shirt on a hideous t-shirt. In short, the goal is to be like nothing.

The recommendation of the Man Trend:
Let's go back to the base of the Normcore trend: a 90's style that featured a cotton shirt that covered a t-shirt patterned on high-waisted jeans. We keep the concept of the cotton shirt on the t-shirt and modernize with jeans or pants and accessorize it with a KAKA Laptop Backpack.

4. Short Shorts
Between the Normcore, the Oversize, we see men in short shorts scroll. The goal: change the size of shorts. Frankly, we do not see too many other explanations.

The recommendation of the Man Trend:
In all transparency, you can wear it if you are fine, menu and not huge in size. Also be careful not to fall into the stylistic trend of fashion shows: namely shorts really too short. Otherwise, you will look like a schoolboy who makes his first return to school. Preferably, if you want to be stylish, we advise you shorts straight or slim at the good height, it is always the sobriety that wins in this case.

5. The Oversize
We have seen at many parades, pants, and oversized jackets. Not easy to bring that into the "real" life, what do you say?

The recommendation of the Man Trend:
We can play on the oversize but the rule is on a single piece and not on a set and especially to a certain extent. Overall, we must admit that we are not very fans of the oversize so be careful if you want to make the choice of the room.

From our side, we advise you to focus your wardrobe for this spring-summer 2018 season on colored chinos, khaki is particularly popular at the moment. Play sobriety for any stylish look and accessorize to customize your outfit to your image.

Men's Fashion Shows: Five Trends for Fall-Winter 2018-19

Migrants and refugees pushed on the roads of exile, terrorism, natural disasters ... The instability that characterizes the world today has pushed designers to think this season, leading them to address strong themes such as that of protection and survival. This resulted in an outerwear with enlarged and rounded volumes to better wrap the body and allow functional multi-layered clothing. The pants are loose and comfortable (jogging or elastic waist). Nylon, which had pierced the last seasons, is omnipresent, as are the ultra-resistant technical fabrics. The man must protect himself against bad weather, but not only. He must be able to move and travel unhindered with all the necessities on him. It's a cold and hostile world that is coming.

1)Masked
Protect yourself from the outside and looks. The mask best symbolizes the theme of protection put forward by couturiers in their fall-winter 2018-19 collection. On the Italian catwalks, the man was masked literally as well as figuratively with hoods with a high collar revealing only the eyes, as demonstrators Black Bloc, balaclavas with skulls (Beyond Closet), hoods of the biker (The Soloist). Some creators have gone further, such as Moschino with his leather or latex masks and Palm Angels with his hoods spiked with metal spikes.

2)Multi-equipped nomads
Never like this season, designers have pushed the limits around the notion of clothing. It is no longer a matter of dressing, but of equipping against adversities, while promoting the movement and the long journeys of a man who must be ready for any event, as we have also seen in London with Graig Green and his clothes-tent or raft, while in Milan the survivors of the Himalayas of Yoshio Kubo are equipped with a deployed parachute.

One dress by stratifications, the long coats, or just their lining and other tunics, are worn under the jacket, under the jacket or even under a pullover with emergency clothes fixed in the back or at the waist (The Soloist). Reversible or decomposable garments are ubiquitous, as is the "two-in-one" offered by Bmuet (te) or Sunnei, where the backpack, ready to rise as "it bag" next winter, is downright incorporated in the back of a jacket.

3) Gloves
With the KAKA Backpack, it is the other accessory trend of winter 2018-19, provided it is original and visible, most often from the world of work: colored rubber at Undercover, mittens stuffed at home Fendi, long glamorous black gloves at Moschino, red leather embellished with Dolce & Gabbana, crocodile at Prada, biker leather with ties at Les Hommes.

4) Cowboy
Shearling, tartan, and corduroy are the big winners of this tour. These three elements (not to mention the jeans also present in great strength), characteristics of the western universe with their vintage side, the sheepskin coat returned to the checkered logger's shirt (preferably red and black at the Woolrich), passing through the velvet jacket, have invaded the catwalks, declining in all the sauces.

Caban, bomber model aviator, duffle-coat for shearling (Dirk Bikkembergs even offers it in a silver version). The Scottish pattern comes in sweaters, shirts, coats, and pants to wear, while the velvet sets with fine or large ribs are also ubiquitous.

The cowboy lode has gone through several collections, also by small touches, with the buckle or medallion belt and the typical leather lace tied around the neck with its metal eagle. We find the western style in the details of some shirts with chest pockets or in the decorations simulating the revolver cases on some pants.

5) The supporter's scarf
It's the coolest accessory of the season! And certainly the most commercial. In wool, with its long fringes and colorful markings, the supporter's scarf will be all the rage next winter. Versace proposes its personalized model with logo. Magliano uses it as a declaration of love for shy boys with the inscription "Be Bellissimo" all along. The brothers George and Michael Heaton, Manchester's creative duo of the label Represent, revisit the black and red AC Milan, in honor of their first parade in the capital of Lombardy.
